Cuba

Passport

Your original passport with a validity of at least 6 months after the expiry date of your visa.

It is also important that your passport contains at least 2 empty visa pages that are opposite each other.

Passport photograph

An official, color passport photo that meets the following conditions:

  • The photo is less than 3 months old
  • Background is white or light gray in color
  • Dimensions are 3.5 x 4.5 cm
  • There are no damages to the passport photo
  • Passport photo is not stapled to the visa application form
  • Person in the photo is looking straight into the camera
  • No glasses are worn in the photo

Tourist card

After you have completed the online application form on this website, we will check it for correctness and completeness. If this is in accordance with conditions, we will send you the empty tourist card by post.

  • You must fill in this card yourself using your passport details and the explanation document that we send along.
  • This card will be checked and stamped upon arrival in Cuba.

Keep this card during your stay in Cuba! Both parts must stay connected until it is taken back by Cuban customs on departure from Cuba.

Validity

Because we send the tourist card to you empty, you can request it up to a year before departure.

  • The tourist card is a single entry visa.
  • You can stay in the country for 30 days upon arrival in Cuba. You can extend this locally once in Cuba with an extra 30 days, so that you can stay in Cuba for a maximum of 60 days in total.

Please note that you should keep both parts (in no way separate from each other!) Until you leave Cuba. If the parts nevertheless become loose or if you have made mistakes in copying your passport data, you must request a new card before departure, as the current one will no longer be valid.

Statement of Insurance

Upon arrival in Cuba, you may be asked to provide proof of coverage in Cuba for your entire stay.

We therefore recommend that you request this letter from your health insurer well before departure.

  • The letter must state your passport details and the duration of your stay
  • The letter should specifically state that you have coverage in Cuba during your entire stay

Explanation about the visa Cuba

Are you going on holiday to Cuba in 2020 or 2021?

Then you need a visa. This applies to all residents of the European Union, including Dutch and Belgians. Minors also have to have their own visa Cuba. If it concerns a tourist trip, the application can be submitted completely online via the application form on our website.

What is the Cuban visa? And how do I fill in a visa Cuba?

The Cuba visa is a green paper card, which consists of two parts. On both the left and right part you enter your nationality, first name, last name, date of birth and the passport number. After arrival in Cuba, one part is torn off and taken. The other part is taken when leaving the country. Therefore, make sure that you keep the visa with your passport in your hand luggage during your trip. Do not stick the visa in your passport, but keep it loose.

Attention!

It is not necessary to register yourself at the consulate of Cuba By submitting your application online, you will save a return ticket to the consulate of Cuba in Rotterdam. It is also possible through the online application procedure to apply for a visa for someone else. When you do that at the consulate, you pay a surcharge of € 25 per person. If you use the online form on this website, this surcharge will lapse. The cost of the visa is € 39.95 per person. This is a total price, so including the consular costs, application costs, shipping costs, VAT and transaction costs. You can then pay with iDeal or Bancontact. Do you prefer to pay with credit card or PayPal? That is also possible. However, you do pay a small surcharge.

 

Period of validity and conditions

The visa for Cuba is valid for 30 days. The validity period starts at the time of arrival. It does not matter when you arrive in Cuba. The only restriction is that the passport used in the online application must still be valid for at least seven months when you arrive in Cuba. If desired, you can extend the visa after arrival at an immigration office for an additional 30 days, allowing you to stay in Cuba for a total of 60 days.

 

Conditions of the Cuba tourist visa: Cuba visa from America

  • You may not arrive directly from the United States of America
  • The passport must be valid for a minimum of seven months upon arrival
  • The tourist visa is not allowed to work in Cuba
  • Minors also need their own visa

 

Are you arriving in Cuba from America?

Travelers coming from America must have a pink tourist card instead of a standard green one. Traveldocs can also provide you with pink cards, but the rates for this are slightly higher. If you wish to obtain a pink visa instead, please contact us in advance.

Emergency procedure

Are you already traveling to Cuba in the short term? Urgent requests that are submitted and paid before 12:00 on a working day will be processed the same day and sent by post. An urgent application can be submitted using the normal online application form. Tick ​​the option “urgent” in the form. A surcharge of € 10.00 per person will be charged for urgent deliveries.
