Do I need a visa for Thailand?

Dutch passport holders who plan to travel to Thailand and stay in the country for more than 30 days must obtain a visa for Thailand. This applies to both tourist and business travelers. Children and babies also need their own visa, which must be affixed to the passport before the trip by an employee of the Thai embassy.

If the stay is shorter than 30 days, a visa can be obtained upon arrival. However, you may experience long queues and difficult procedures. To pre-order a visa from Traveldocs, you save yourself all that effort. We check your application thorough before we will go to the Thai embassy with your passport and documents and take care of the visa procedure for you.

What exactly is a visa for Thailand?

If you want to go to Thailand for a holiday or business trip, you must apply for a regular visa before entering the country. The visa is a sticker, which is issued by the Thai government and is affixed inside the passport. With this visa you have permission to enter the territory of Thailand. This visa is usually issued by the Embassy of Thailand in The Hague or the Consulate General of Thailand in Amsterdam.

The Thailand visa will be checked during passport control upon arrival in Thailand. If you arrive by plane, the first visa check will probably already take place at the airport.

Our staff will work professionally to ensure that your visa application for Thailand is presented flawlessly at the Thai Embassy, so you can reiceve your visa and travel with confidence.

What types of Thailand visas are available?

The most known visa types are the tourist and business visas for Thailand. However, in the event of a long-term stay or immigration (the so-called Non-Immigrant visa or Long Stay visa), it is also possible to use Traveldocs as your visa intermediary.

You can obtain the Visa on Arrival upon arrival in Thailand. This visa gives you the opportunity to stay in the country for up to 30 days. Usually, most tourists mainly apply for a tourist visa for Thailand, to avoid long queues when applying for and / or extending a visa on arrival. This tourist visa offers you the opportunity to stay in the country up to 60 days and, if desired, to extend it locally for another 30 additional days. This also applies to business visas.

Can I apply for an e-visa Thailand application?

Thailand also has an electronic visa, which must be applied for online. However, is not (yet) possible for Dutch passport holders to obtain one. All NL and BE passport holders must obtain a visa in advance from the embassy in The Hague or in person from the consulate in Amsterdam.

On our website you can initiate the application for a regular tourist or business visa for Thailand. We will take care of this process for you and take care of the application via the embassy in The Hague.

What do I have to do for a visa Thailand application?

To obtain a visa, you must provide a file with the correct documents, together with your passport and an official passport photo. This can often go wrong, because the Thai government wants the file to be in perfect order. If this is not the case, the visa application can be refused. That is why it is important that you submit your application correctly the first time. On our website you can see per visa type what the requirements are and which conditions they must meet. You can also download the documents in .pdf format.

Keep in mind that the consulate and embassy are at all times free to request additional documents from you for your visa application, without providing any explanation or reason for doing so.

What are the costs of a visa Thailand application and how long does the procedure take?

The costs for the Thailand visa vary per visa type and processing time. Normally, a normal application often takes only 6 – 8 working days. An urgent procedure can also be completed in 4 working days.

However, the embassy reserves the right at all times to take longer to assess your application than the stated average processing time for this.

The cost of the Thailand visa is per person from 81.95 euros, including VAT. This concerns a single entry tourist or business visa with a validity of 60 days of consecutive stay.

How long is the Thailand visa valid?

The visa is valid for 3 months from the time of issue. From that moment you have 3 months to travel to Thailand. As soon as you enter the country, the 60 day period starts.

If you plan to stay longer in the country, you must extend this visa locally in Thailand or travel out of the country and obtain a visa again (whether or not upon new arrival in Thailand). Traveldocs can provide a full list of all the addresses of the currently known Immigration Offices in Thailand. Please contact us if you want to receive a full list per mail.
