What is a visa for Indonesia?

If you want to go to Indonesia for a holiday or business trip, you must apply for a regular visa before entering the country. The visa is a sticker, which is issued by the Indonesian government and is affixed to the passport. With this visa you have permission to enter the territory of Indonesia. This visa is usually issued by the Embassy of Indonesia in The Hague.
The visa will be checked during passport control in Indonesia. If you arrive by plane, the first visa check will probably already take place at the airport.

Do I need a visa for Indonesia?

Travelers with a Dutch nationality, both tourist and business, only need a visa for Indonesia if they stay longer than 30 days.
Indonesia has a Visa on Arrival for stays of less than 30 days. This can be obtained by a free stamp (visa free entry) or by purchasing a visa on arrival (a small sticker that is pasted in the passport). However, we cannot guarantee access without a visa and you must be able to proof that you will indeed leave Indonesia within 30 days. Are you not able to do so? Then you will be denied access and you must obtain a visa in advance at the embassy.

To safe you all the trouble and long queues at the airport, we recommend to obtain a visa before depature via our serice.

Can I stay with family members in Indonesia?

Tourists with Dutch nationality only need an Indonesia visa for stays longer than 30 days, this visa is suitable for 1 entry to Indonesia and applies for a maximum of 60 days. This visa cannot be extended.
When visiting family or friends, a visa can be requested that can be extended. For this application, an invitation / sponsor letter  from an Indonesian and a copy of his / her KTP card must be provided. This statement must be legalized by the relevant Indonesian municipality and may also be issued / requested by an Indonesian living in the Netherlands. This “Social Visa” gives you the option to stay in Indonesia for a maximum of 180 days, but you must have this visa extended at the local “Imigrasi” 10 days before the first 2 months have elapsed, this extension is for 30 days. In total, this can be extended 4 times, bringing the total length of stay to 180 days.

What types of visa are available for Indonesia?

Tourists with Dutch nationality only need an Indonesia visa for stays longer than 30 days, this visa is suitable for 1 entry to Indonesia and applies for a maximum of 60 days.
Business visas come in different variants, which can be applied for for 1 entry (single-entry) or for an unlimited number of entries within a year (multiple-entry). If you are staying in Indonesia for less than 30 days, you do not need a visa at all.
However, you also have a visa for journalists, a visa for students, a visa for volunteers, a work visa, a transit (transfer) visa and a visa on personal invitation (Social Cultural).

Do I need a different type of visa for my holiday or business trip?

Do children need to obtain their own visa?

Yes, anyone traveling, regardless of age, must be able to present a visa when entering Indonesia. This means that everyone must therefore also have their own passport (children are therefore not credited in the passport of a parent / guardian), which will contain the visa.

How long am I allowed to stay in Indonesia?

If you apply for the tourist visa to go on holiday, you can stay in Indonesia for a maximum of 60 days at a time.
If you apply for a business visa, you can stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days at a time. If you apply for the (business) multiple-entry visa with a validity period of 12 months, you can stay in Indonesia for a maximum of 60 days in any consecutive period.

Can I enter Indonesia multiple times on one visa?

Currently it is not (yet) possible for tourists to apply for a multiple entry visa for Indonesia. You must therefore either apply for a new visa or enter the country visa freely.
A business visa for Indonesia is available with multiple entries. However, additional conditions apply. You can find this on this page.

How much does a visa for Indonesia cost?

The costs for the visa for Indonesia for the tourist single-entry visa are € 89.95.
For the business single-entry visa € 89.95 and for the business multiple-entry visa € 146.95
This includes processing costs, consular costs, transaction costs (with iDeal / bancontact payment) and VAT. If you want to have data and / or documents collected or delivered at home, you pay additional shipping costs. You can also use an urgent procedure where a surcharge will also be charged. How many times am I allowed to travel on one visa?

The single-entry visa, both tourist and business, is suitable to enter Indonesia once for a stay of up to 6 days.
With the (business) multiple-entry visa, you can enter Indonesia indefinitely within 12 months, here too, each consecutive stay may not exceed 60 days.

Do I have to travel on the date stated in my applicationform?

No, you do not have to, Note: You can only travel within the validity dates stated on the visa for Indonesia. If you have changed your trip and it is no longer within the validity of the visa, you must apply for a new visa.

The visa is valid for 3 months from the time of issue. From then on you will have 3 months to enter Indonesia. The number of days of maximum stay (60 consecutive) starts upon arrival.

My visa application has been processed, but I still havent received an email.

If, after paying your visa, you have not received an email from us within an hour, first check the junk mail folder (spam box). Didn’t receive an email there either? Please contact us by phone or e-mail via the contact page.

How do I apply for a visa for Indonesia?

The visa application procedure for Indonesia starts online. To do this, open the online application form. After filling in all the details of the traveler (s) concerned, the application can be paid very simply. It is possible to do so with iDeal, Bancontact, Paypal or with Credit Card. When the payment has been completed you will receive (within a maximum of 1 hour) an email from us with instructions on how to deliver the required documents. To deliver these documents, you can choose to drop them off at our office, send them by registered mail or courier, and you can also use our secure collection service.
Once the documents are received by us in Hoofddorp, we will thoroughly check the package for you. We will adjust the data that we can do ourselves where necessary. If we miss data, we will contact you by telephone or email.
As soon as the package is ready and in accordance with conditions, we will go to The Hague with the application. When we submit the documents, we will be informed whether additional documents are being requested. Even then we will contact you directly.
After granting the visa, you will receive the passport with the visa for Russia back from us. You can select the method of return in the application form, namely; Registered mail, DHL courier, personal collection from our office or ready at Schiphol.

How long before departure can I obtain a visa for Indonesia?

The visa application for Indonesia is possible between 90 days and about a week before departure, depending on the visa type you have chosen. To ensure that the visa is issued on time, we recommend that you submit the application a few weeks before departure. You can find more information about this on the delivery times page.
Note: A maximum of 1 valid visa for Indonesia can be present in your passport, if you have a current visa in your passport, the validity of this old visa expires.

Is there an urgent procedure available?

Yes, the visa for Indonesia can also be applied for urgently. The usual delivery time for both the business and tourist visa is 10 working days, if you make an urgent request, this is 6 working days. A surcharge of € 39.95 applies for this business procedure and € 17.50 for the tourist visa.

Is it possible to apply as a group?

Yes, it is possible to add multiple travelers traveling to Russia together on one application form. Because a lot of data only has to be entered once, this can save a lot of input. Ask us about the possibilities.

When do I pay for the visa?

After submitting the online application form, you must make the payment. You can do this with: iDeal, Paypal, Bancontact or credit card. If a surcharge is charged for the collection and / or shipping method you have chosen, this will be added directly to the total amount.
If you use a custom courier (for collection and / or return), the costs will be invoiced afterwards.

Is it possible to extend an existing visa?

No, it is not possible to renew a visa. Please also note that any new visa application for Indonesia will immediately invalidate any old visa for Indonesia. So only submit a new visa application when you no longer want to use any previously issued visas.

How do I send my passport and documents?

There are a number of delivery methods, namely; deliver at our office in Hoofddorp, send it yourself (registered by post or by courier), have it picked up by us (the next day or in case of emergency the same day).
Sometimes our pick-up service can be used the same day. The possibility and costs depend on the pick-up location, the time and the crowds at our courier service. The costs for the next day’s pick-up also depend on the pick-up location.

How do I receive back my passport with the visa?

The return of the passport containing the visa Indonesia can be done in several ways. In the application form that you fill in online, you can indicate which option you prefer: pick it up at our office in Hoofddorp, pick it up yourself at Schiphol (surcharge: € 44.95), shipping by courier next working day (surcharge: € 39.95 ), by registered mail (surcharge: € 17.09), by courier on the day of grant (surcharge on request) *

Prices are per application and not per visa. If multiple visas are applied for with one application form, the shipping costs will remain the same (with a maximum of 4 passports per shipment)

Which documents are required for a Indonesian visa?

Which data and documents you have to provide depends on your travel destination (tourist or business), the number of entries required in Indonesia and the desired period of validity of the visa. After submitting the online visa application for Indonesia, you will receive a personal email from us with instructions on how to provide the necessary documents for your situation.

Which conditions apply to my photograph?

The passport photo must be hardcopy (on paper and not digital), taken in the last 3 months in the format 35x45mm. to be delivered. The passport photo must be of high quality and in color with a white background. Headwear is only allowed in the passport photo if this is for religious reasons: The visibility of the entire face is then a requirement.
The passport photo must be loose (so not attached to the application form in any way) and free of any glue / staple remnants.

Does my passport state the letter O or the number 0?

Document numbers in the Netherlands never contain the letter “O”, but they can contain the number “0”. Even though it seems that there is a letter O in your passport, it will be the number 0. It is also important to know that document numbers in the Netherlands are 9 characters long.
Belgian document numbers may include the letter (s) “O” and / or the number “0”. Belgian document numbers are 8 characters long and always start with 2 letters followed by 6 numbers.

Which conditions apply to my passport?

An emergency passport is not accepted.
The passport must be valid for at least seven months after each entry. With a long stay in Indonesia are valid the entire period of the stay. The passport must contain at least one blank page.
The passport must also be free of covers and / or covers, please remove them before sending them to us.

18 years or younger?

Children under 12 must provide a letter of consent written in English signed by the parent (s) / guardian and a copy of the parent (s) / guardian (s) passport, as well as a copy of the birth certificate .

If the child is traveling with both parents and they have already obtained their visas, a copy of the visa and a copy of the flight confirmation must also be provided.
If the child is traveling alone or with one of the parents or another family member, an official letter of authorization (to be obtained from the municipality where the child is registered) and a copy of the birth certificate must be provided.
If it concerns an application for the whole family, then only a copy of the passport of both parents / guardians and a letter of consent must be submitted if the child is under 12 years old.

What if I am retired?

If you are retired, there are no requirements other than the normal visa application for Indonesia.

Do I have to book a flight and hotel in advance?

To apply for a Indonesia visa you must provide a copy of your flight schedule, this schedule or e-ticket of your flights must show that the traveler leaves the EU for Indonesia and that (and when) the return journey from Indonesia takes place.

What are the requirements for the invitation letter?

An invitation letter is required if you are traveling to Indonesia for business, this letter must be written on company paper (a copy is allowed).
With a single-entry visa, it must come from the sponsor / organization to whom you are traveling in Indonesia.
With a multiple-entry visa, it must come from the immigration service in Indonesia. The invitation letter can be a maximum of 2 months old when applying for the visa.
The invitation letter must be addressed to the embassy in The Hague, state the name of the invitee as well as the name of the traveler, state the date of entry and exit and be signed by the inviting party.

What is a KTP Card?

A KTP card (Kartu Tanda Penduduk) is an Indonesian identity document, a copy of both sides is required when applying for a business visa and a Social Cultural visa.

Changing or cancelling an existing application

I made a mistake on my application/documents. Can I change this?

In this case, please contact us as soon as possible to indicate what is not in order. Whether your visa application can still be corrected depends on the nature of the error and the status of your application. If we have not delivered your application to the embassy yet, it is possible to make changes. If your applicaiton is already in the hands of the embassy, there is nothing we can do. You must obtain a new visa with the proper information and cancel the existing one.

My application is denied. Can I get my money back?

No. We must pay the visa in advance. If the Indonesian government decides that you are not allowed to enter the country for any reason, we cannot get these costs back.

Can I cancel my application?

After receiving your passport and other documents, we will process your application. From that moment on, cancellation of the request is no longer possible. If you want to cancel your application before you have submitted your passport and documents, please contact us by phone or e-mail.
