What exactly is a visa for Egypt?

If you want to go to Egypt for a holiday or business trip, you need to apply for a regular or E visa before entering the country. The visa is a sticker issued by the government of Egypt and affixed to the passport. For Tourist purposes you can apply for the e-visa for Egypt. With this visa you have permission to enter the territory of Egypt. This visa is usually issued by the Embassy of Egypt in The Hague.
The visa will be checked during passport control in Egypt. If you arrive by plane, the first visa check will probably already take place at the airport.

Which documents do I have to provide in order to obtain an Egypt visa?

To obtain a visa, you must provide a file with the correct documents, together with your passport and an official passport photo. This can often go wrong, because the Egyptian government wants the file to be in perfect order. If this is not the case, the visa can be refused. That is why it is important that you submit your application correctly the first time. On our website you can see per visa what the requirements are and what conditions they must meet. How long is the procedure and what are the costs for visa Egypt?

Do children need to have their own visa for Egypt?

Are you traveling abroad with a child over which you have joint custody or over which you do not have custody? Do I have to present a visa on arrival?

Yes, for some nationalities a Visa on Arrival will also suffice. However, this is not the case for Dutch passport holders and they must arrange a regular visa or e-visa in advance.

How do I receive the Egypt visa?

Yes, the way of entry into Egypt does not affect the visa requirements.

Which information is required for my application?

The eVisitor visa for Egypt to apply for is simple, you just have to fill in the online application form, it is important to have your passport (which must be valid for at least 6 months after arrival) at hand.

Which conditions apply to my passport?

The passport of application must be valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in Egypt. If you apply for a new passport after the application, you must also apply for a new visa as they are linked, so a visa linked to an expired passport is not valid.

Does my passport state the letter O or the number 0?

Document numbers in the Netherlands never contain the letter “O”, but they can contain the number “0”. Even though it seems that there is a letter O in your passport, it will be the number 0. It is also important to know that document numbers in the Netherlands are nine characters long.

Belgian document numbers may include the letter (s) “O” and / or the number “0”. Belgian document numbers are eight characters long and always start with two letters followed by six numbers.

Do I need to book a hotel and a flight in advance?

To apply for the electronic visa for Egypt you must provide both a hotel confirmation in the name of the travelers and a return ticket by name in .PDF format. You must upload this file after completing our online application form.

Questions about canceling, changing and possible rejection for the Egypt visa

I made an error on my application and/or documents. Can I correct this?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to make changes for applications already submitted. The only way to correct an error is to submit a new application. In this case, the payment will also have to be paid again.

Can I get my money back if I will not make use of the visa?

If your application is approved, you will never receive your money back. Not even if you do not use your eVisitor visa for Egypt. Regular visas are also not reimbursed if you will no longer use them. In the unlikely event that you have a new passport and have a valid Egypt visa, you must apply for it again and again pay the costs for linking a new visa to your new passport. The old visa is automatically declared invalid on a new regular visa application for Egypt.

Can I cancel an existing application?

Cancellation is only possible before payment is completed. As soon as we have received the payment of your eVisitor visa application, we will process it immediately and refund of your payment is no longer possible from that moment.

If you made a mistake with the application, you can submit a new application. Costs for this new application are entirely at your own expense.
